WHAT WE SING
Exploring the music, stories, and traditions that shape our sound.
BLACK MUSICAL TRADITIONS
Black musical traditions form the foundation of our repertoire. From spirituals and gospel music to contemporary works inspired by racialized experiences, these traditions carry stories of resilience, joy, faith, community, and cultural expression. Through this music, we honour the rich legacy of Black voices while exploring their continued influence on choral music today.
Every piece we sing is written, composed, or arranged by Black creators. It is a commitment that shapes our repertoire and honours the legacy we are proud to share.
CONTEMPORARY CHORAL MUSIC
Alongside traditional repertoire, we explore contemporary choral works that reflect a wide range of voices, perspectives, and musical styles. These pieces challenge, inspire, and connect singers and audiences alike.
STORIES THROUGH SONG
Every piece we perform tells a story. Through music, we explore joy, resistance, celebration, love, faith, and identity, sharing the experiences that have shaped Black communities across generations.
